This tool is available to Google Ad Manager users only.
A great way to increase impressions without inundating your site with more ads, is to allow the existing ad placements to refresh after a period of time, garnering a new impression.
If not already enabled, go to Plugins > Ad Refresh Control plugin > Activate.
Once activated, a new section will appear in Advertising > Settings. There are many options for granular control, but the recommended setup is already in place for you.

The default settings enable an active-view, time-based refresh on all ad units. In other words, when an ad unit is at least 70% within the viewport for at least 30 seconds, it will refresh, generating a highly viewable new ad impression.
The goal here is to provide a way to boost ad impressions without the need for adding more ad units to a page, provide a recovery for the loss of impressions typically seen from lazy loading, and increase viewability.
Note: AdSense does not allow their ads to be refreshed, so Newspack automatically excludes refreshes when AdSense is detected as the advertiser. If you are interested in scaling up to AdX, Google’s premium programmatic network that does allow refresh, please reach out in the Newspack Help channel in Slack.
