You can distribute posts from any site within your network to other connected sites.
How to distribute a post
1. Click the Distribute icon (a blue antenna) in the post editor.

2. In the panel, select the sites you’d like to distribute the post to. If you want the status of the distributed posts to be different from your default (i.e. publish immediately rather than distribute as pending), adjust the post status before distributing.

3. Choose the “Status on publish.” This will determine whether the distributed stories should be automatically published when the original post is published. For example, if set to Draft, the distributed post will remain on draft even after the original has been published. (Note that if the original post is already published when distributed, this rule will be applied immediately.)

Once distributed, any changes made to the original post will automatically sync with the selected sites.
Note: The distribution and post updates may take a few minutes to reach their destination.
Distribution settings
The following settings are available via Newspack Network → Distribute:
- Manage who can distribute content

- Update the default “status on publish” option. This will determine which status the distributed posts will be set to when the original post is published
- Define the canonical URL for distributed posts. By default, this will point to the original post.

Linked vs unlinked posts
When a post is distributed, linked posts are created in the assigned destinations. Linked posts are locked and editors are only allowed to modify the post’s status:

In order to make changes, the post must be unlinked. Once unlinked the editor is unlocked and changes are saved.
An unlinked post can be relinked, which will overwrite the changes made while unlinked. If the post was relinked unintentionally, the changes can be restored via post revisions after unlinking again.

Limitations
- Images from a distributed post’s body are not imported to the connected site’s media library. As a result, editing gallery blocks for unlinked posts will reset its images.
